This is the clamping ring above the diaphragm.Volvo Penta guidelines recommend that replacement of the Saildrive diaphragm seal is carried out every seven years as a minimum. The seal is date stamped. This may also be an Insurance requirement. When fitting this kit, check the metal clamping plate for corrosion and make sure to fit the seal kit with the date stamp visible.
