Volvo Penta new improved high riser exhaust elbow, part number 3884165
This is the high-riser version of the exhaust elbow or water injection elbow. This is a new improved high riser type from Volvo Penta. Exhaust elbows are a common cause of overheating and poor exhaust flow of water into the exhaust, due to carbon build-up and rust.
It is not uncommon for aftermarket non-genuine elbows to corrode quickly and in some cases, explode, due to poor casting. Only use genuine Volvo Penta parts to ensure the safe operation of your diesel for you and your family and crew.
