The D2-55B range of Volvo Penta diesel was built from 2004 to 2005. The Volvo Penta D2-55B is a 4-cylinder fresh water-cooled engine, compact, quiet and environmentally efficient diesel.

On any Volvo D2-55B, clean out the heat exchanger every 5 years, replace the heat exchanger O-rings and check the exhaust elbow to prevent a build-up of carbon and rust in the outer chamber.

VCS (orange) offers improved protection against corrosion and the build-up of deposits. It helps counteract cavitations and galvanic corrosion. The change interval is 4 years for VCS2 orange coolant and can be mixed with VCS yellow coolant. It must not be added to any previously used green coolant engine.
