Volvo Penta D4 and D6 heat Exchanger O-ring set.
Volvo Penta D4 and D6 engines must have their heat exchanger and oil cooler (Intercooler) O-rings changed every five years as the maximum.
This is a set of 8 O-rings required to complete the task. Failure to change the O-rings on any D4 and D6 can result in salt water leakage around the end cap joint, which can damage/corrode the housing, often requiring a new heat exchanger casing to be installed.
We strongly recommend not to use aftermarket O-rings as the casings are expensive to replace should the O-rings fail to protect the system.
Once the heat exchanger has been removed from the engine, the stack will need to be removed and cleaned, and the heat exchanger re-assembled, ideally pressure tested and painted.
