Volvo Penta D4 and D6 Intercooler O-ring set.
Volvo Penta D4 and D6 engines must have their heat exchanger and Intercooler O-rings changed every five years.
This is a set of 4 O-rings required to complete the task. Failure to change the O-rings on any D4 and D6 can result in salt water leakage around the end cap joint, which can damage/corrode the housing, often requiring a new Intercooler casing to be installed.
We strongly recommend not to use aftermarket O-rings as the casings are expensive to replace should the O-rings fail to protect the system.
Once the heat exchanger and Intercooler have been removed from the engine, the stack will need to be removed and cleaned, and both the heat exchanger and Intercooler re-assembled, ideally pressure tested and painted.
