Volvo Penta D4 Exhaust Elbow blanking plug, Part Number 22948832.

This is the exhaust elbow or water injection elbow blanking plug. It also uses a copper washer, part number 969011. The new genuine exhaust has an extra side opening for a temperature sensor. Older Volvo Penta D4 engines do not have a temperature sensor and thus this extra port requires a blanking plug and washer. 

The exhaust on a D4 should be checked at least every 5 years by removing it and checking for carbon build-up and corrosion. Never use a stainless exhaust elbow on a D4. We see them fracture and fail due to heat. Always use a genuine Volvo Penta exhaust on a D4
