Volvo Penta D6 Series
Technical Specification: Current D6 series diesel range. 5.5 litre, in-line 6-cylinder, 280 hp to 480 hp. The oil capacity of approximately 20 litres of VDS 4.5 oil. The Coolant capacity is approximately 17 litres.
The D6 Volvo Penta diesel is the current model. The Volvo Penta D6 is a quiet and environmentally, efficient 5.5 litre, in-line 6-cylinder fresh water-cooled engine. The new D6 meets emission compliance IMO NOx, EU RCD Stage II, US EPA Tier 3.
We can supply all parts for the Volvo Penta D6 including the range of D6 series spare parts, oil filters and fuel filters, crankcase breathers, drive belts and impellers, genuine D6 series exhaust elbows, oils and grease. We are also the main Volvo Penta dealer for servicing and technical support.

The heat exchanger and air cooler on any D6 should be cleaned and all the "O" rings should be changed, every 5 years to prevent overheating and joint corrosion. Older D6 diesel engines may run on Volvo green coolant and newer ones may use yellow VCS coolant. Please do not mix or change the coolant type once one or another has been used. If you are running on Volvo Penta green coolant, continue to use green coolant. Mixing yellow and green coolant can cause gelling and blockages within the cooling system.
