Volvo Penta Heat Exchangers and Parts
Volvo Penta heat exchangers are an essential part of any Volvo Penta engine. All heat exchangers should be cleaned, and the O-rings, if fitted, replaced every 5 years to prevent corrosion on the end caps.
The gasket to the exhaust elbow should also be removed and replaced every 5 years to prevent corrosion of the heat exchanger to the exhaust casting joint. The system should then be refilled with either green or yellow coolant, but these must not be mixed.
