Volvo Penta high riser exhaust elbow, part number 3581031.
This is the high riser version of the exhaust elbow or water injection elbow. This is a genuine high riser type from Volvo Penta. Exhaust elbows are a common cause of overheating and poor exhaust flow of water, into the exhaust system due to rust and carbon build-up. Remember, the outer water jacket, where rust fragments can build up, cannot be cleaned due to a lack of access.
It is not uncommon for aftermarket non-genuine elbows to corrode quickly and in some cases with aftermarket stainless types, they can explode, due to poor casting. Only use genuine Volvo Penta parts to ensure the safe operation of your diesel for you and your family and crew.
