Technical Specification: TAMD71A, TAMD71B series diesel range. Manufactured from 1996 to 2000. Inline 6-cylinder, 218- 357 hp. Oil capacity is approximately 20 litres of VDS 4.5 oil depending on inclination.

The heat exchanger and air cooler on any TAMD71 should be cleaned and all the "O" rings changed, every 5 years to prevent overheating.

A TAMD71 diesel should run on Volvo green coolant. Please do not mix or change the coolant type once one has been used. If you are running on Volvo Penta green coolant, continue to use green coolant. Do not use VCS yellow coolant as it can cause it to gel and cause blockages to occur within the cooling system.
