This Racor 500 MA fuel drain tap is suitable for all Volvo Penta diesel engines from 13 hp. The benefit of this diesel drain tap is that fuel can be drained out of the filter whilst out at sea.
The Racor fuel water separator is installed between the fuel tank and the engine. The lower part of the filter has a clear bowl which shows whether water or other impurities, such as diesel bugs, are present in the fuel. There is a bottom drain plug to drain out any water or other contamination present, but this tap makes it much easier.
The Racor 500 MA drain tap has a brass shut-off valve with 1/4" NPT thread to replace the standard Racor Turbine Series drain plug. The valve is UL-listed and USCG-approved.
