Genuine Volvo Penta Heat Exchanger O-Ring.
Heat exchangers on all Volvo Penta Compact diesel engines should be removed and cleaned every 5 years. If not, the end caps can start to weep and corrode the casting. The end caps should be checked and new o rings used. This is where any bits of the old impeller will end up and generally, the stack will be full of mud in some of the pipes.
Remember that Volvo green coolant should be changed every 2 years and VCS yellow, every 5 years. Do not mix green and VCS yellow coolant. If you currently use one colour, remain on that type of coolant. Please be aware, if it's mixed, it will gel.
Do not scratch any part of the brass stack when removing it from the casing. If the engine is overheating on full power and drops in temperature once the throttle is reduced, then the heat exchanger is the first place to consider. Also, check the exhaust elbow by removing it and the impeller pump for damage and leaks and drips.
Please note 4 are required and these are priced individually.
